and the New North Campus?

To better serve the patients of Sparta Community Hospital we have embarked on an expansion project.  Sparta Community Hospital has simply out grown the space currently available for Emergency Services, Surgical Services, Laboratory Services, Physical Therapy, Fitness, Womens Healthcare and Convenient Care.  To meet those needs, a building project and modernization of current facilities was undertaken. At the same time, the vacant Kroger store on North Market was purchased and an impressive expansion of services occured there as well.

 The Emergency department was designed to support 2500 visits per year, less then half as many emergency room visits that Sparta Community Hospital experienced in 2003.  The new Emergency Department offers 6 PRIVATE patient rooms and a more convenient flow through experience. 

The former surgical department was designed in an era when a surgical visit went hand in hand with a hospital stay.  Today many surgical procedures are done on an outpatient basis.  The new surgical department is designed with these changes in mind.  The surgical department is to the left of the main entrance, and is directly connected to both the laboratory and main patient wing of the hospital.  These changes offer patients visiting the hospital for an outpatient surgery a seamless operation from registration to the recovery room. 

The New North Campus houses Physical Therapy and The Center, sharing a 10,000 sq.' area, with exercise equipment, walking track, SwimEx® therapeutic pool, and therapy rooms. The area also houses locker rooms and showers for the convenience of Center members. Womens Healthcare occupies an area adjacent to the new Convenient Care offices. With convenient hours, patients who experience episodic illness or injury can access care quickly.
