Dr. Angela Barber, MD OB\GYN
Dr. Barber is a physician
specializing in women's health care including both gynecology and
obstetrics. During her OB\GYN residency at Mount Sinai Hospital Center
in Chicago she was the Chief OB\GYN resident. Dr. Barber has joined the
office of Womens Healthcare where she looks forward to serving you.
Dr. Shawn Beckemeyer, M.D.
Dr. Beckemeyer is a general
practitioner and has been affiliated with Sparta Community Hospital/Coulterville
Medical Clinic since 1999. She completed her medical training at Anderson Area
Medical Center, Anderson S.C. after completing her Medical Degree at Southern
Illinois University School of Medicine at Springfield. Dr. Beckemeyer enjoys
Pediatric and Adult medicine. |

Dr. Russell Coulter, MD
Dr. Coulter has been practicing family medicine at Sparta Community Hospital
since 1983. Dr. Coulter completed his Medical Degree at Rockford School of
Medicine and his Family Practice Residency at the Southern Illinois School of
Medicine affiliate hospitals in Springfield, IL.

Dr. Scott Cordts, MD Family Practice
Dr. Cordts, Originally from West Frankfort, IL, practices in
Marissa at the Marissa Medical Clinic, and Sparta at Family Health Centre.
Dr. Cordts Received his Undergraduate and Graduate training at Southern Illinois
University in Carbondale and Springfield. Dr. Cordts completed his
residency at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Dr. Franklin James
Dr. James is a Family Practitioner who completed his Residency at the St. Joseph
Medical Center in Yonkers New York. Dr. James Joined the Sparta Community
Hospital Staff in June of 2000. Dr. James provides a full range of Family
Medicine at our Coulterville Office.

Dr. Mark Preuss, MD
Dr. Preuss has been a member of the Sparta Community Hospital’s Medical Staff
since 1990 and provides family practice services to the members of the
Steeleville Community at Sparta Community Hospital’s Steeleville Clinic. Dr.
Preuss completed his Medical Doctorate at Indiana University in Indianapolis,
Indiana. Dr. Preuss completed his Residency at the University of Kansas, Kansas
City Missouri.

Dr. Elvira Salarda, MD
OB
Dr. Salarda began providing family practice medical services at Sparta Community
Hospital in 1992. Dr. Salarda completed her Medical Doctorate in the
Philippines and her Family Practice Residency at the Nassau Communities Hospital
Oceanside, New York. Dr. Salarda
enjoys both adult and pediatric medicine as well as obstetrics.

Dr. William Southworth, MD, Cardiology
Dr. Southworth has served the Sparta Community for over 18 years providing
cardiology-consulting services and has now joined Sparta Community Hospital’s
Full time staff. Dr. Southworth Specializes in Diagnosis and non-invasive
treatment of Cardiac illnesses. Dr. Southworth is the medical Director of
Sparta Community Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program. Dr. Southworth
completed his Doctorate of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine
in St. Louis, MO as well as his residency and fellowship.
