It is with great pride that At-Home Health Care Services of Sparta Community Hospital announces that Misty Schulein, LPN, was awarded the “Above and Beyond Award” from the Illinois Homecare and Hospice Council.   The intent of this award is to recognize employees who make valuable, usually behind-the-scenes contributions, which are important to the successful functioning of their agency.

The actions cited for this award are not a normal part of the employee’s job duties. Their actions are recognized as “Above and Beyond” because they demonstrate one or more of the following: Solves a problem or addresses an issue at their home care/hospice agency that provides outstanding service to the patient, or fellow employees, and creates or fosters a more productive work environment.

“Misty is calm and reassuring by nature.” States Home Health Administrator, Cheryl Adams, BSN, MBA.  “She is an excellent listener and is quick to pick up on non‐verbal cues among patients, their families and her peers. Three things that I think of when I think of her are caring, integrity and follow‐up. These characteristics mentioned are key to the success of quality patient care and her belief that home is the first choice.  We are blessed to have an employee such as this.”
