Sparta Community Hospital’s Emergency Department was awarded the SCH Quality Spotlight for the month of April during the hospital’s management team meeting on Wednesday, May 19. The Quality Spotlight is awarded to one department that has demonstrated achievement and improvement of key processes and performance.
In effort to increase both patient satisfaction and department efficiency, the Emergency Department staff measure the minutes from the time the patient arrives to the time they leave. The goal is to have patients in and out in 130 minutes or less. In January, February and March, the Emergency Department had an average in/out time of 125-127 minutes.
