During Sparta Community Hospital’s monthly leadership team meeting, CEO Joann Emge announced that the Family Health Centre is the recipient of this month’s Quality Spotlight.
Understanding that early detection of breast cancer increases care options, survival and quality of life, part of Sparta Community Hospital’s strategic plan is to increase the percentage of mammograms performed on females between the ages of 50-75. The Family Health Centre put a number of processes in place to encourage 81% of women being seen in their clinic to schedule a mammogram. For February, March and April, the Family Health Center, exceeded their goal by scheduling 84%, 88%, and 89% respectively.
Each month, Sparta Community Hospital recognizes one department who has met one of their target’s for three consecutive months. A traveling trophy is awarded and displayed in the wining department for one month.
