Who We’re Lucky to Work With

Celebrating the people who bring Care With Purpose to life every day

At Sparta Community Hospital, we believe the way care is delivered matters just as much as the care itself. It’s in the extra moment someone takes to listen. The way a teammate steps in without being asked. The patience, compassion, and even humor that show up on the hardest days.

Around here, we call that Care With Purpose—showing up with intention, putting people first, and doing what’s right in the moments that matter.

This  past March, in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, we asked a simple question: “Who do you feel lucky to work with?”

The response was overwhelming. 130 shout-outs came in, recognizing nearly 100 team members who make this organization stronger—not just by what they do, but by how they show up every day.

And while not every employee name could be listed here, their impact is felt across every department, every shift, and every role. This isn’t just about those recognized—it’s about the culture we’re building together.

Because when you look closely, “luck” here isn’t luck at all. It’s people living out Care With Purpose in ways that matter.

They’re always patient, positive, and willing to go out of their way to help. Somehow, they make it feel like my issue is the most important one in the building—and then, just when you think they’ve moved on to actual critical systems, they’ll circle back days later with, “Hey, I’ve been thinking about your issue…” That level of kindness, follow-through, and quiet brilliance does not go unnoticed.” – Jennifer Barbour

“John is great at his job, explaining why things are done the way they are, and is very honest at all times.” – Gunnar Moore

Bumann, Amanda

“I truly feel lucky to work alongside Angie, Amanda, Janet, Shelly, and April in our Home Health office. In home health, the clinical care may happen in the patient’s home — but the strength of that care starts right here in the office. The four of you are the steady hands behind the scenes making sure authorizations are secured, orders are tracked, claims are submitted correctly, phones are answered with kindness, and problems are solved before anyone else even knows they exist. You manage the details that keep us compliant and operationally strong. You juggle payer requirements, physician orders, scheduling challenges, and billing regulations — all while supporting clinicians and reassuring families. What makes me especially grateful is not just your skill, but your heart. You care about doing things the right way. You care about our patients. You care about each other. And you care about this agency’s mission. Because of you: Patients receive uninterrupted care. Clinicians can focus on healing. Our agency remains strong and sustainable. Chaos is turned into coordination. Home health is complex — Medicare rules, replacement plans, authorizations, billing edits — yet you handle it with professionalism, teamwork, and grace. We often say that home health takes a village. I’m grateful that this is our village.” – Cheryl Adams

Thank You for Living Our Values

These shout-outs are more than kind words—they’re a reflection of who we are.

They show what it means to live out Care With Purpose: showing up for each other, supporting our teams, and making a difference in the moments that matter most—for our patients, their families, and one another.

To everyone who was recognized—and to those who took the time to recognize someone else—thank you.

And to those whose names may not appear here, please know your impact is seen and felt every day. The care our patients experience doesn’t happen by chance—it happens because of the people behind it, in every role, across every department.

Because when we choose to see the good in one another, to call it out, and to build each other up, we create something bigger than ourselves.

That’s what it means to Care With Purpose. And that’s how we continue to Believe in Better.
