Aging in an inevitable and unavoidable process that affects each and every one uniquely. Aging brings on many changes as a person develops throughout the lifespan. The way in which you take care of yourself through the years both physically and mentally will impact the way in which you age. Many of our lifestyle behaviors and choices are integrated, thus there is a strong association between healthy lifestyles, prevention and longevity.
Sparta Community Hospital is excited to partner with the University of Illinois Extension to offer an interactive program Keys to Embracing Aging. This interactive series highlights 12 keys aimed at helping you to grow old gracefully, successfully, and with increased longevity. Keys to Embracing Aging will influence attitude, nutrition, physical activity, brain health, social activity, technology, safety, medical literacy, stress management, financial security, sleep, and taking time for yourself.
Since there is no magic potion to stop the aging process, it is important to take care of your body, mind and spirit throughout your whole life. These 12 keys, and many additional healthy behavior practices, encourage optimal aging throughout the lifespan.
Each program will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Sparta Community Hospital Auxiliary Room B at Broadway Plaza on the dates listed below. Feel free to register for the whole series, or pick and choose your session(s). RSVP to Jennifer Barbour at 618-443-1467.
