Courtney Johnson Earns CDCES Certification

Courtney Johnson, MS, RD, LDN, CDCES
At Sparta Community Hospital, Believe in Better isn’t just a tagline — it’s a commitment to continually growing, learning, and finding better ways to care for our patients. That’s why we’re proud to share that Courtney Johnson has earned her Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) credential.
This achievement reflects Courtney’s dedication to helping patients better understand their health and feel confident managing diabetes in their daily lives. As a CDCES, she works one-on-one with individuals to provide education, support, and practical tools that promote long-term wellness and prevention.
Courtney’s approach aligns perfectly with our belief in better care through education and individualized support. She takes the time to listen, understand each patient’s unique needs, and help them build realistic, sustainable habits that lead to healthier outcomes.
In addition to her CDCES certification, Courtney is a Registered Dietitian with a master’s degree in nutrition and is a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN). Her strong clinical background allows her to provide evidence-based guidance while maintaining a compassionate, personal approach to care.
“Courtney truly embodies what it means to Believe in Better,” said Lori Clinton, Chief Nurse Executive at Sparta Community Hospital. “Her dedication to education, prevention, and individualized care helps patients feel empowered and supported every step of the way. This certification is a reflection of her commitment to improving lives through knowledge and compassion.”
What This Means for You
If you or someone you love is managing diabetes, Courtney’s new certification means even more support is available right here in your community.
It means having someone who takes the time to explain things in a way that makes sense, answers questions without rushing, and helps you figure out what works best for your life. From nutrition and daily habits to long-term health goals, Courtney helps make managing diabetes feel more manageable — and less overwhelming.
Her advanced training allows her to provide personalized education, practical tools, and guidance focused on prevention and long-term health. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, working to improve your numbers, or simply looking for extra support, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
This is just one more way Sparta Community Hospital continues to Believe in Better — by investing in education, expanding access to care, and making sure our patients feel supported every step of the way.
