The Health and Wellness Foundation of Sparta Community Hospital recently awarded the first ever Alene Holloway Registered Nurse Scholarship to Taylor Hepp of Sparta.
Hepp has been employed as a certified nurses aid in the emergency department at Sparta Community Hospital for the last five years and is currently working towards becoming a registered nurse through Chamberlain University. “Working in the emergency department has inspired me to become a registered nurse,” shares Hepp. “I have witnessed firsthand the crucial role nurses play in providing compassionate care to patients during times of crisis.”
“We’re grateful to the Holloway family for initiating this scholarship in honor of Alene,” states Joann Emge, CEO of Sparta Community Hospital. “This scholarship speaks directly to two things Alene values most – caring for people and education.”
Chosen from several outstanding employed applicants, Hepp has been awarded $1,000.00 to be sent directly to her school to be used towards tuition, fees and books.
The Alene Holloway Registered Nurse Scholarship was established by the Holloway family in honor of Alene’s 90th birthday. Holloway, a retired nurse served Sparta Community Hospital District for nearly 30 years, first, as a registered nurse and later a member of the Board of Directors. Holloway has dedicated her life to supporting the work of our local hospital and the education of aspiring healthcare workers.
The Health and Wellness Foundation of Sparta Community Hospital District supports the work of the Hospital in a variety of ways and encourages the support of the community by raising awareness of the educational needs of our future young healthcare professionals.
