Cold Weather Safety Tips:
The National Safety Council reminds us that extreme cold can be dangerous. Protect yourself and others with these simple tips:
- Bundle Up: Wear layers, mittens, and a hat to conserve body heat.
- Limit Exposure: Stay indoors as much as possible during extreme cold, wind, or moisture.
- Watch for Frostbite: Numbness and pale skin on fingers, toes, or face may indicate frostbite. Warm affected areas gently and seek medical help if needed.
- Prevent Hypothermia: Shivering, confusion, and slurred speech are warning signs. Move to warmth, replace wet clothes, and seek immediate medical attention.
- Stay Prepared: Keep an emergency kit in your car and home, including blankets, water, and a flashlight.
Thank you for trusting Sparta Community Hospital for your healthcare needs. Stay warm and safe!
