Safe Sitter® Class: Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders to Believe in Better
Being prepared can make all the difference — especially when caring for others.
At Sparta Community Hospital, we Believe in Better preparation, better confidence, and better care. That’s why we’re hosting a Safe Sitter® class designed to teach 6-8th grade students the essential skills they need to stay safe, respond to emergencies, and care for children responsibly.
What Students Will Learn
Safety Skills
Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures, weather emergencies, or accidents at home.
Life & Business Skills
From screening babysitting jobs and setting fair rates to communicating with parents, students gain real-world experience and confidence through hands-on role plays.
First Aid & Rescue Skills
One of the most popular parts of the class, this section teaches choking rescue, CPR, and a step-by-step approach to assessing and responding to injuries and illnesses.
Child Care Skills
Students explore child behavior and development, learn how to manage common challenges, and even practice skills like diapering and soothing infants.
