The American Cancer Society shares that the links between diet, weight, exercise and colorectal cancer risk are some of the strongest for any type of cancer.  In fact, an estimated 50% to 75% of colorectal cancer can be prevented through lifestyle changes like healthy eating.

“The colon is a crucial part of the digestive system, and proper nutrition can play an important role in its health,” says Registered Dietician, Courtney Johnson.

As March is Colorectal Health Month, Johnson is offering a free class on Thursday, March 24, to share how individuals can improve their nutrition to improve overall digestive health.  The class will be held at 6:00 p.m. in Auxiliary Room A at Broadway Plaza.

As seating is limited, individuals are asked to call Jennifer Barbour at 618-443-1467 to register by NOON on Tuesday, March 22.
