Sparta Community Hospital recently completed an application for free tablets and chargers through a donation program offered by COVID Tech Connect.
Susan Gutjahr, Health Information Technology Director, reported that Sparta Community Hospital was awarded 15 Samsung tablets and 10 universal charge cords. “We are very grateful to have received these devices to allow our patients to stay connected to family and healthcare providers.”
COVID Tech Connect is a group of volunteers across the nation working to equip hospitals and senior care facilities with smart devices that allow COVID-19 patients to connect with their loved ones. They have recently purchased 10,000 Samsung Tablets to donate to hospitals treating vulnerable populations. They specifically seek to provide donations to hospitals with patients in critical care who are in isolation. These devices will provide patients an opportunity to remain connected to friends and family through video chat.
