Sparta Medical Office Welcomes New Family Physician — Now Accepting Patients for August 2025

Sparta, IL — Sparta Community Hospital is proud to announce that Dr. James Reeves, MD, FAAFP, a Board-Certified Family Physician with over 12 years of clinical experience, will be joining the team at Sparta Medical Office. Patients can begin scheduling appointments with Dr. Reeves starting August 2025.

“Dr. Reeves is no stranger to our community—his roots run deep, as his mother is originally from Sparta and he spent his early childhood right here” shares Director of Marketing & Relations Jennifer Barbour. “He, along with his wife, Whitney, and their two young children, Harrison and Genevieve, are excited to return to the area.”

Dr. Reeves brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to patient care, having served as an Attending Family Physician for 12 years in Arkansas. He completed residency training as Senior Chief Resident at the SIU Family Medicine Residency Program and earned the prestigious designation of Fellow from the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP).

Dr. Reeves received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences – College of Medicine, and completed undergraduate studies at both the University of Arkansas and the United States Air Force Academy. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
