Helaine graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1998. She then received her Master of Science in Nursing from Spring Arbor University in 2020. While attending college Helaine worked in nursing and nursing management, gaining experience in emergency, urgent care, intensive care, dermatology, and neurosurgery. She has served in the nursing profession for 25 years.
