Sparta Community Hospital will be hosting their 10th Annual Community Health Fair on Saturday, January 25th, from 7am-10am at Broadway Plaza, Suite3 & 4 in Sparta.

As in the past the hospital will be offering a Complete Blood Count Screening that reports the number of white and red blood cells, hematocrit, hemoglobin & platelets in our blood.  This test helps your doctor look for signs of anemia, infection, bleeding problems or certain diseases and disorders, $10.  A Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, a group of blood tests that check your body’s electrolytes, blood sugar, proteins and how well the liver and kidneys are functioning, (10 hour fast required) $15.  They will also be offering a Lipid Panel which measures lipids, fats and fatty substances used as a source of energy by your body. Lipids include cholesterol, triglycerides, high density lipoprotein cholesterol, (10 hour fast required) $15.  A PSA, Prostate Specific Antigen test for men only will also be available for $20. Offered again this year will be the A1-C, glucose control for the past 2-3 months, $10 and a TSH, which alerts the physician of an under-active or over-active thyroid, $20.00.   There will also be blood pressure screenings and many other hospital department services offering healthcare information.

Vouchers will be available to purchase that day for the blood screenings mentioned above at the health fair prices.  Vouchers must be used by February 1st, 2019.

Our experienced surgical team, along with Giuseppe Aliperti, M.D., Gastroenterologist, will be on hand to demonstrate colonoscopy equipment and educate on common issues of gastroenterology.  There will be free educational information from several departments, assistance in signing up for the SCH Patient Portal, gifts, refreshments and prizes..
