Sparta Community Hospital is working hard to meet the needs of the community during this pandemic.  We are following IDPH guidelines, and will be testing with an order from your provider.   IDPH has outlined that the only exception to needing an order will be for those individuals who are deemed ‘essential’ and are requesting to be tested.

As the state of Illinois moves into Phase 4, and our area is seeing fewer positive COVID-19 cases, Sparta Community Hospital will no longer be offering drive-up testing.  However, we are happy to continue offering testing, via our outpatient laboratory.  We do ask that you call your primary care provider or Convenient care at 443-6228 to receive an order.  Once the test is ordered, individuals simply need to report to Customer Service at the hospital, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. where they will be swabbed for test.  All individuals entering the hospital MUST wear a mask.

Regardless of the reason you feel you need to be tested, we are asking that you call your Primary Care Provider, and speak to his/her office staff about your symptoms and/or exposure level so a test can be ordered.

It’s a simple process, and you don’t have to worry about being around other patients, a waiting and swabbing will take place in a private consult room.  Only one patient is in the room at a time.

If the individual does not have a primary care provider, we are asking that he/she calls our Convenient Care Clinic to speak to a provider.

Sparta Community Hospital does not accept walk-in testing.  We ask that patients first call their primary care provider, or convenient care for an order.
